Hoquiam wants grant to fix boat launch, hoping for river moorage later

The city of Hoquiam will be applying for a grant to renovate a dilapidated Levee Street boat launch and add a boarding ramp for public use, hoping eventually to add moorage on the Hoquiam River.

“There is a very strong need to renovate this boat launch,” said Alissa Thurman, city planner, of the existing privately owned gravel boat-launch pad, located where Ninth Street and Levee Street intersect.
